The History of Turlood Stables

Read below to find out a little more about Billy and Kate and to know how Turlood Stables came about.

Billy Stewart does not really require an introduction. Billy has always been a familiar and popular face in Scottish show jumping, and for many years had great success with his riders on horses and ponies alike, this being at all levels, from Novice to Grand Prix.

 

Billy also produced many famous horses that went on and did exceptionally well, which were sold to England, Ireland and Europe. He formerly traded from Hoodshill Farm in Lesmahagow and now trades here at Turlood Stables. Billy takes great pride and pleasure in sourcing horses from Europe and Ireland, and regularly enjoys trips abroad to bring home horses which go on to succeed in all disciplines.

 

Kate Bunting, who moved to Scotland in 2003, has since provided many a happy competitor at riding club shows, BE eventing and many leisure riders with suitable horses. Kate traded independently as KBequi-sales for many years and sold a vast number of horses. This website is a new version updating clients of a change of business name, and Kate will update the horses for sale page daily as usual.

 

Kate enjoys riding in her spare time, and has a lovely horse of her own which she hopes to enjoy over the summer months.

 

William plays a huge part in day to day life at Turlood Stables, and can often be seen whizzing around on a quad bike, a tractor, or very occasionally a pony! William also attends all of our horse buying trips abroad and is a junior horse dealer in the making.
